Mosaic Sundials

Mosaic Sundials offers patterns for five functional sundials with a variety of “mix or match” style patterns. (The style—or gnomon—is the piece that casts a shadow on the sundial so you know what time it is.) After winning the People’s Choice Award at an art fair with her mosaic Peacock Sundial, Mary created four more sundial designs with outdoor themes (waterlilies, leaves, floral and koi), all of which appear in this book. There are nine style patterns (mostly cute, little critters) that can be mixed or matched with an appropriate sundial pattern. Construction is the “poured stone” method using readily available 14" round or 16" hexagon molds. Full-size patterns, clear instructions, materials lists and color photos of each project are included.
